Swing Center

Opened in Modesto in the summer of 2023, this indoor golf simulator facility boasts some of the most sophisticated technology available in the emerging golf simulator market.

MOA transformed an art frame store into a comfortable and inviting space that utilizes the industrial characteristics of the shell architecture, while infusing the familiarity of paired back golf club aesthetics at the user level. Rich wood accents, stone counters and tufted leather furniture hint at that golf club aesthetic, while the concrete floors, exposed truss ceiling, bright corrugated metal ceiling element at reception, and large scale steel fans nod to the industrial nature of the space and large scale gathering potential of the indoor sport. MOA worked closely with aboutGolf, who manufactures the simulator technology, to ensure that the swing bays were designed in a way that allowed the technology to be used to its highest potential and provide a great user experience.

MOA designed all of the art in the space as well. The large scale art installation behind the custom reception desk consists of 1,734 foam golf balls arrayed in a gradient pattern using the Swing Center brand colors of blue, orange and yellow. The large scale vintage golfer images were modified from vintage illustrations and help to balance the large scale of the overall space.
