Koya

This existing restaurant was looking to rebrand and change its service type to fast casual. After its head chef left, this sushi restaurant decided to create a faster, more modern experience for diners. Modifying their sushi dishes to a more self contained offering similar in concept to poke bowls and morphing into a more to-go focused restaurant was the chosen direction, especially being at the beginning of pandemic fears.

At the interior, a long service line was added with a dedicated to-go area for delivery service pick-up. Counter seating at the store front, a dramatic wood slat ceiling design , and decorative lighting catch the eye of the passer-by and draw the eye into the space. Cartoony wall graphics add some color and fun, while a wall of existing brick is exposed to add a warm texture and opportunity for branding.
