Nikkei: Peruvian Japanese Lounge

Designed as a vibrant restaurant and bar in downtown San Francisco meant to cater to after work clientele, this Peruvian Japanese restaurant borrows design cues from both Peruvian and Japanese influences.

Just as Nikkei cuisine melds Peruvian and Japanese tastes into a modern food style, the design takes the clean lines and modern materials of Japanese design and elevates these with moments of lively intervention from Peruvian textiles to bring some color and dynamism into the double height dining space. Natural plantings are also used as an accent to highlight the contrast of organic materials against hard architectural lines.
